Reba is 14 today!!

I was hesitant to adopt her as she was 10 years old and I didn't want my heart ripped out all over again so soon after Sonny had died, but it's been four years now and she's still doing great. I'm so lucky!!

I guess I was tempting fate by being so happy. We have an appointment Thursday at the animal cancer center to confirm the cancer diagnosis from my vet. Hoping it's wrong. :(

Thanks for all of the kind words, everyone. We spent half the day at the animal cancer center yesterday.

Reba has two tumors. The one they could look at is cancerous. No idea on the other one. The good news is the lymph nodes are not swollen and her symptoms are mild right now. Bad news is that surgery is not recommended in her case. She could do chemo but even that wouldn't do much for her.

If things progress slowly, she could still live a while with a good quality of life, so that's what I'm hoping for.

I started this week thinking I may have to say goodbye to my sweet girl right away and now I know I will have her around a bit longer. That's good news!
