The forum gets a small commission from every item sold and the commission increases based on the number of items sold in a month. (So even buying a 99 cent MP3 helps!) Bonus this year: Amazon has announced FREE SHIPPING through the holidays!!

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. If you create a wedding or baby registry, the forum earns $3. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps pays the operating costs of this forum which continue to go up as our commissions have gone down. • Don't get me wrong, the big hits without padding is weapons grade tough. It's just that the hardest part of football is the mundane hits. The huge hits are what the highlights show and they are dangerous but it's hard to explain how bad the physical toll of the everyday basic plays. The padding is a double edged sword, it is supposed to protect you but it incentivizes going full speak to knock someone out because the padding also protects you.

I think the soccer flops are sometimes ridiculous, they should knock it off but I think some of the hits are worse than they appear on TV. I can only imagine how tough I am when I'm jogging in mile 3 and somebody kicks my calf muscle from behind. I would be a mess and you would definitely make fun of my reaction.

Superb! Would you be rolling about?

And I didn't think about padding that way. You make an excellent point.

In any case......., you wouldnt catch me playing US Football or Aussie Rules. I'll stick to the soccer......., less likely to break a nail.

I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

        • True story......, loved Aussie Rules from the first time I ever witnessed it......., and then in 2nd year High School in Geelong, Oz I played two games before deciding, “fk this shit!” All my school buddies turned into feckin psychos for an hour. I crossed over to the pussy soccer class with PE teacher, Mr Tatnell, an Arsenal supporter from London.

At least you eventually understood the difference.

Yesterday I would have been. I was running on a trail and my daughter texts me that she'll need to be picked up in 15 minutes and I was a good 20 minutes from my car. By the time I got to the car I would flopped and rolled around big time if somebody touched me. I probably would have cried as well.

My wife was a trainer for college sports and high school football. She said the worst injuries she worried about were soccer and girls cheerleading.

                  • I'll join if I can, I've played soccer like every european kid so you know i'm not bias, but i've played football for seven years and it's just amazing.
no sport can be compared to it (for me at least) and i've tried basketball, handball, tennis, even kickbox.
football has that ultimate team sport thing to it that keeps ot apart.
and trust me, I've been on team that hasn't won game for 5 yrs 😀

                    • Unlucky, Osijek. Sounds like they could’ve scored a few v Sevco Rangers tonight. 1-0 defeat and heading to Glasgow next week. I think Sevco Rangers will win in front of their usual 55K supporters.

Hibs were 2-0 down tonight @ HT v Greek side Astoras thanks to woeful defending. The player in question was subbed 2nd half and Hibs win 3-2. Was a decent game although the ref was card happy.
I think Hibs go out next week though. Expecting Astoras to win 2 or 3-0 next week in Greece.

                        • Great stuff, your bro getting pic with Stevie G! That’s awesome.

And The Sevco and their British flags, Essek? I’ve never really got myself involved in any of that Shyte because it can get very nasty indeed.
The vast majority of them see themselves as “unionists” and strictly “British” and not Scottish. They sing the British national anthem Etc and they would also have been supporting England at the World Cup. Very pro British Protestants.
To be honest, and I do not exaggerate...... being caught in the wrong end of Glasgow wearing certain colours could cost you your life.
The joke used to be if you wanted to commit any crime in Glasgow, do it on Old Firm Derby day because ALL of the police are at that!!

                            • When you say “you guys”, I know you are referring to those Sevco Rangers fans! I certainly know my roots are well and truly in Scotland. Couple centuries ago, there was Irish stuff going on but the Lions avatar there tells the story for me ———> Scottish, and proud of that.

Its a Protestant thing, Essek. Even at Shitecastle where the Jambo fuckers play...... a smattering of Union Jacks are here and there.

But Hibs and Celtic fans can be similar in their bigotry with the colours. A lot of Hibs fans still recognise the Irish flag as their own as the founder members were Irish......, but fk that shit, ........ Hibs were formed in Edinburgh and that’ll do for me.
