    • Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney says about the newly submitted budget:

"As a member of Congress, representing the 5th district of South Carolina, I probably would have found enough shortcomings in this <budget> to vote against it, as did many members of this committee. But I’m the director of Office of Management and Budget, and my job is to try and fund the president’s priorities, which is exactly what we did.”

Translation: "No longer will I do what I believe is in the best interest of the country, my job is to lick Chump's ass."

            • An endless parade of intelligence officials, all personally selected by Trump, could parade past him and provide him evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 election and he'd refuse to believe it.

It's a different topic from collusion, but in Trump's mind there's no difference. He's come to believe any admission of this undermines his victory and an any finding of interference implies that he had 'help' winning. And we all must know that he and he alone is responsible for his victory. No one else helped. No one's advice made a difference. He alone. He alone.

                • Democrat projected to win the special election for Florida House District 72, 52-45%.

Florida Election Watch displays votes collected from all Florida counties as they are being reported on election night.

Trump won this District 51-46%. Romney won it 51-48%. Registed Republicans outnumber registered Dems there 46-40%. It's in Sarasota County. Sarasota last voted for a Democrat President in 1944. The Republican candidate is the son of current US Congressman Vern Buchanan, who represents the same region.Corey Lewandowski was personally making appearances down there and holding rallies, warning people that if the Republican lost, the disgusting media will try to blame Trump, who we all know is an absolute rock star.

Hard to know what to read in this and other special elections where Democrats are greatly outperforming their 2016 results nearly everywhere. Are they flipping votes or is the base just much more energized and angry than in 2016? And are Republicans, who might not care about these special elections, still a lock to turn out in November or in 2020? Turnout was 36%, which is reportedly extremely high for a Florida special election.

                  • Trump will have his sacred 17 -- or whatever the disenfranchised base % was that he got in 16 -- just a matter if how many people he alienates by 18 (and/or if that alienation carries a simultaneous galvanization of others), if young dems actually vote, if minority votes who strongly endorsed Obama, but were turned off by Hilary.

There's a pundit out there who has already called exactly how it will go.

                    Definitely not me.

                    • Its comedy hour in Washington. Chump's lawyer paid off the porn star, just because.

"In a private transaction in 2016, I used my own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford," Michael Cohen said in a statement. "Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly."

When asked why he made the payment, Cohen told CNN: "Just because something isn't true doesn't mean that it can't cause you harm or damage. I will always protect Mr. Trump."

Golly, I can't even acknowledge (due to an NDA) my extramarital affair with Putin's cock holster back in 2006. Since truth doesn't matter, where's my $130k?

President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer said Tuesday he paid $130,000 of his own money to a porn star who allegedly had a sexual encounter with the President before his time in office.

                      • At the White House private quarters....

Melania: I told you, from now on you can sleep with your buddy Vlad. Or Stormy whatshername. And not in this bed. Not with me.

Chump: Awww, don't be that way. Its all fake news.

Melania: Bullshit, I'm not stupid. Everywhere I turn, that bimbo's face is plastered everywhere. My staff tells me your staff is laughing at me because you think I'm oblivious to your escapades.

Chump: That's not true. The part about Stormy's face being everywhere. I watched Fox for three whole hours this morning and I didn't see her face or her silicone enhanced body with that cute mole next to her bush anywhere. I mean, I heard she has a mole. From the Daily Intelligence Briefing.

Melania: Yeah, what about your shyster Cohen? He paid $130k out of his own pocket to cover something that didn't happen?

Chump: That's small change. I fart more than $130k at a time. Besides, I'm Donald Trump, reality is what I say it is and I say it didn't happen. My lawyer happens to give out $130k lots of times. To lots of people. Doesn't matter. His statement totally vindicates me. Fox and Friends says so.

Melania: Get out of here. I was under the impression our marriage vows were sacred.

Chump: They are sacred. Ask Ivanka or Marla how highly I regard them. No wait, don't ask them. I meant that I changed back in 2016, totally committed to you. Bigly.

Melania: We were married in 2006 asshole. Take a blanket and go.

Chump: I meant 2006. I'm just upset by all this fake news. Besides, I'm Donald Trump. I'm entitled to bimbos if I want, which I don't. They like being grabbed by the pussy, which I don't do. I can do anything I want with them, which I don't. They like it even though I don't.

Melania: I don't think you realize how close you are to becoming the first divorced President in history.

Chump: I don't think you realize how close you are to having the pre-nup invoked. $30M and you're on your way.

Melania: And risk exposing your secrets?

                        Chump: Like what?

Melania: We could start with your teeny weeny weenie. I can tell everyone its the size of your inauguration crowd.

Chump: But I have big hands!

Melania: <Holding up a half extended pinky finger> Go away Donald. Go tweet something.

First, there's no way I'm not stealing "Ruprecht the Monkey Boy" and using it lieu of snowflake. Too perfect.

Second, I find it interestingly amusing that To Kill A Mockingbird was banned in 1966 by folks dedicated to Jim Crow bullshit and a mere 50 years later by folks dedicated to social justice. All it took was a little time and pressure. Geology.

Third, it certainly draws a ginormous red circle around the censors of this day and age. And they ain't curmudgeonly christians in Podunk, Texas banning dance and classic works. It'll interesting to follow this arc...I can't imagine any sane person thinking it'll stop at books by "dead white folks" that use the n-word.

I don't know how other states do it but GA uses SPLOST or Special-Purpose-Local -Options Sales Tax to fund road building and repair. It also funds parks and other capital projects like schools. What's appealing about it is that it is very local. GA sales tax is 4% but the law allows counties to add up to an extra 2% to fund local projects.

Residents in a county will vote for or against a proposed SPLOST that will, in advance, be laid out regarding it's purpose. I live in Gwinett Co. which is outside the two counties that the city of Atlanta occupies. People with kids flock to this county because the schools are excellent. Retirees live here because senior centers are well funded and present. There's lots of green space, bike riding and running trails. Roads and bridges are well maintained.

In comparison, Dekalb and Fulton Co. have shitty schools, shitty roads and a shit ton of crime (except in North Fulton Co. where white flight occurred many years ago and continues today). That's because the voters residing there almost always reject a sales tax increase to fix shitty roads pocked with dangerous holes and leaky water and sewer systems. Getting sick of high levels of crime inside the City y though, did recently vote to fund more police. For roads, however, City and County officials look to the Feds and to be sure, I85, 285 and 75 are pretty nice if you don't mind them becoming huge parking lots that are present during rush hours.

North Fulton is not contiguous with the portion of Fulton Co. that contains the city of Atlanta and there is some kind of arrangement that allows a level of self governance in N. Fulton Co. Shocking that N Fulton Co. has pretty good schools, roads and parks AND the highest per-capita income by Co. in the state.

The downside of living there is that the property tax rates, set by the criminals governing the whole of Fulton Co. soak those living in North Fulton Co. There is some kind of distribution protocol that weights tax disbursement but too much of it gets diverted to the bloated salaries of South Fulton Co. employees. It's a mess and the system persists.

But, yeah, in my local experience roads and bridges are in very good shape. Not because Co. officials look to the Feds but rather they act locally. So, Trump's call for big Infrastructure spending to correct what he perceives is a crumbling of it isn't going to play at the local level here although politicos aligned with him will say it does ... and be FOS. Donald, note to you, we're fine. Stay the fuck in Washington and out of GA.
