  • "While such crime went down by 21.9 percent between 2007 and 2014, it was up again by 10.4 percent by the end of 2016. Some 83 percent of the cases were solved -- and 92.1 percent of the increase was attributable to the newcomers".

Sanders answered "I'm not aware of that report and will look into it. Next!"

Reporter: "Sarah, it's not a report, these are official government figures"

      Sanders: "NEXT!"

Kudos to that NewsMax guy (don't know his name) for not laying down for her.

The most current crime report from Germany, which was released just in May, shows that crime in Germany has fallen 5% just between 2016 and 2017. Violent crime was 2.6% lower in 2017 than 2016.

So no, Trump is not "right" on this nor is crime exploding in Germany.

          • That Lisa Murkowski feels comfortable putting out a statement this critical of the WH demonstrates that Republicans don't feel this issue is a big 'winner' for them. Trump doesn't either, in his heart of hearts; that's why he's trying his damnedest to make Dems take all the blame for it.

            • Federal Judge strikes down the Kansas "proof of citizenship law" that Mr. Voter Fraud himself, Kris Kobach, personally argued for in court. Kobach proved utterly incapable of proving the existence of mass-scale voter fraud in court and the judge cited him for contempt at one point for ignoring her injunction.

Her decision also orders Kobach to complete 6 hours of legal classes pertaining to Kansas civill rules of procedure, LOL

His point, which holds true, that all three, violent crime, homicide and rape have increased since the influx of migrants. If the numbers are up 10%, but then drop by 5, then crime is still up, no?

Nobody cares what Lisa Murkowski thinks

perhaps if the media made a stink about it back then, but why would they? They exist solely as a mouthpiece for the democrats

The Souther Poverty Law Center has reached a settlement with liberal Islamic reformer Maajid Nawaz and his organization, the Quilliam Foundation, for wrongly including them on its now-defunct list of “anti-Muslim extremists.”

You can't give a yes or no answer to that question, DSL.

DHS is a cabinet level department. It doesn't enforce but rather administers several agencies including US Customs and Boarder Protection which has the responsibility of enforcing immigration laws. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is an investigative body.

When apprehended by USCBP, an alien who has attempted to illegally cross the US Boarder is referred by the Department of Homeland Security for a section 1325(a) violation (there are other statutes such as 1326 but 1325 is the one that Sessions announced the zero tolerance policy with regard to it).

The DOJ in the SW region in this case prosecutes and, with the help of ICE, determines which track the illegal alien will go through; there are two tracks: (1) Magistrate Courts (minor offenses), (2) District Courts (criminal offenses). There are numbers associated with these two tracks here:

What Sessions Zero Tolerance policy amounts to is a directive for the DOJ to proceed with prosecution of violators of 1325(a) only in track 2 - a criminal offense. Once that step is taken, the process that is followed is to refer children of the illegal alien to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The link below, for those interested, explains this process.

                        https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/zero-to...ily-fact-sheet

We absolutely must be careful in this debate to not over-simplify complex immigration law or assign tasks to agencies that do not have the authority to carry them out. Moreover, it is too easy without appropriate back-ground knowledge, to over-simplify the process by which an allegation that an alien has crossed the US boarder illegally. I'm finding that most political figures speaking with assumed knowledge on this topic, don't know what they are talking about. I found this article where confusion at the highest levels resulted in pronouncements that were factually incorrect as well as being examples of immigration law being incorrectly interpreted.

There is such a thing as redemption. Jim Harbaugh is redeemed at the expense of a fading Ryan Day and OSU. M wins back to back games v. OSU first time since 1999-2000 - John Cooper was fired in 2000!!!

                          • Jeff, Jonathan Turley, one of Fox's go-to legal experts, was on Fox an hour ago and he was clear; there is NO LAW requiring Trump to separate families at the border. End stop. I believe Alan Dershowitz said something similar earlier in the day. Both have been sharp critics of the Russia investigation and have been very critical of Comey and Mueller, so they aren't Trump-bashers in any sense.

Sessions, Kelly, and Stephen Miller have ALL described it as a policy in recent months, when they thought it was going to be a huge hit with their voters. They ANNOUNCED IT as a new policy back in April!! Why are you acting like Trump's hands are tied? They aren't.

No one's claiming that DHS has always been doing this, not even Nielson, so if they are simply following the law NOW then at the start of the year they must NOT have been following the law. Is that not logical?

It's written in the law but there are other ways to handel it, like catch and release. Those days are over. The number of adults showing up with a child falsely claiming they are related has jumped over 300%.

give me a solution that works in the short term, BUT WONT INCREASE NUMBERS IN THE LONG TERM. Interested to hear your thoughts.

also, lol at your partisan hackery, just because i agree with a legal expert or political pundit or politician on the special counsel doesn't mean i have to agree with them on immigration policy. Is that how your brain works?
