    • Ultimately it should end up being a nothing burger but you wonder what other things he'll step into diplomatically. Foreign policy has the tendency to consume a Presidency in ways nobody can foresee when your careful, Lord knows how it can consume if have these unforced errors.

              • This was no instance of happenstance. Not only did the man campaign on picking a fight with a China, this is exactly the type of juvenile tactics he's employed through the primaries and general election. As are the mis-statements, the denials that follow them, and the denials of the denials.

                    • Sarah Palin (lol) bashes Trump over his Carrier deal. "Crony capitalism"

Sarah Palin wants to say thanks but no thanks to Donald Trump’s Carrier factory deal, and blasted the President-elect for “crony capitalism.” The Trump administration and the air …

                      • This quote of Trump's is being spread around as if it were recent, but it's from 2015. Still, it's shockingly dumb, and apparently legit.

Donald Trump has called for a shutdown of the Internet in certain areas to stop the spread of terror.

"We're losing a lot of people because of the Internet," Trump said. "We have to go see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that Internet up in some way. Somebody will say, 'Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.' These are foolish people. We have a lot of foolish people."

                        • You know this, strange. None of what even politicians of substance say, which does not describe Palin, is going to be heard.

Trump has, IMO, very cleverly constructed a presidential race, and now his future presidency, built around sound bites and personality politics. He has duped the press who egregiously failed to advance substance over appearance in the election. Now he is skillfully using social media and utterly abusing the traditional media forms to create the image and culture of and surrounding himself he wishes to have portrayed.

If this is, in fact, an accurate description of the situation, Trump is far from the buffoon he may have been portrayed as by the left and has literally danced circles around them. Have to give him credit at some point.
There is such a thing as redemption. Jim Harbaugh is redeemed at the expense of a fading Ryan Day and OSU. M wins back to back games v. OSU first time since 1999-2000 - John Cooper was fired in 2000!!!

                          • When he'e actually president and makes real decisions, he won't be able to back pedal, deny and make excuses for his actual decisions like the way he's done in social media.

You'd like to think that but so far, the guy has broken through just about every boundary of political and diplomatic correctness there is.

This is a debate which will continue for some time I think.

His use of twitter for example...I have heard it described as revolutionary, but I dunno. I mean, Hillary Clinton had a Twitter account too, but she didn't hop on it at 3am to say crazy, incendiary shit. So maybe campaigning like a Jerry Springer episode is ingenious. Or maybe its just who he is, and it happened to work within the existing circumstances. Maybe a little of both.
