But this "theory stuff with little application... to the real world" has become a thing with you, you ungrateful Cretian!! "Theory stuff" holds true at all times and in all places when it involves man being evil and power corrupting. Hack, your problem is that you claim to believe both those things, but you can't reconcile that with what you have been told to believe about the" real world". You think that once a person, like your wife, hires on with the government, that they become like Plato's "Men of Gold" and make decisions for the "common good". Plato tried that in Syracuse and most everyone died. As long as you believe that somehow human nature changes when one is hired by government, you will face this irreconcilable contradiction.
But now that we know that AA is a government hiree, we may as well move this to the Misc thread.
