  • Oh yeah, reading the controlled media, like that is worth it.

    • Geezer, here's what I acutally said:

The LNG market is largely government-to-government deals, just as a significant proportion of the oil market is.

Here's a paper you should read from start to finish: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/1...nalCode=uafp20. It's a debunking of the "bathtub analogy" you are talking about. Check the author's bio -- he spent 25 years as a crude investor. He says:

``approximately one-fifth of all petroleum produced in the world is not allocated through markets and has no market price"

Factor in that 80% of production comes from state-owned entities now, like Aramco and the like. You decide for yourself whether I'm silly or lack credibility, whether these figures represent a significant chunk of the market, or whether in these conditions the scenario you're describing is realistic. I couldn't find a direct g-to-g sales figure, but I think you could probably start by thinking about India and China. That's 2 billion energy consumers. Did you think it was private-sector companies doing the importing on their behalf? Have you thought about why Africa's biggest export destination is China? Do you know how their oil-for-infrastructure deals work?

Here's Chanis' addressing your point head-on: "A more realistic understanding would recognize the imperfect hold markets have on global crude oil allocation and would stop confusing the theory of “free markets” with the reality of international politics and oligopoly."

      • If we're going to go ahead with a proper investigation, I think it has to be done slowly and methodically, and there has to be an avalanche of evidence before you move on it. And, I think it needs to take down as many people as possible. I don't necessarily agree with the people that say once rule-of-law is gone your republic is done. I think clearly there's been ebbs and flows in American history, and times when rule of law flaaged and times when it was reinforced. This has to be an impetus for a major reinforcement by whomever comes next. If you want to reform a system you need to indict a system. Not just a person or a group.

I do like the idea that Obama can now sue for libel. Not to win or lose, but for what would come out in the discovery process.

7:30 AM: "Arnold a total loser in the ratings. We fired him! Sad (pathetic)!"

8:00 AM: "Great day for some golf"

              • If the FISA court authorized the bugging of Trump Tower in October of 2016, certainly there should be a record of the request. Remember, the FISA courts grant about 999 out of 1,000 requests.

                  • The first reporting of the warrant was in November: https://heatst.com/world/exclusive-f...ies-to-russia/. Apparently it was awarded after a first attempt was deemed too broad.

This is a pretty comprehensive timeline of it so far: https://www.emptywheel.net/2017/03/0...otus-go-crazy/

I googled "PM" and found "private message". I have no clue how to send a private message through this forum. Sorry.

                      • Sorry. I am on a computer with academic-library access right now, so I didn't notice it was restricted access. There's no way to attach a doc here, is there?

Top right of your screen, click on the ``Private Messages'' link under where it says ``Welcome, Geezer''. On the next page, look at the left side for ``Send New Message". Go from there.

Trump could easily order the immediate release of all information. He hasn't.

The stories about the FBI wiretapping members of the Trump campaign have been around for weeks. There's no way Trump was handed intelligence at 6:20 in the morning. He read the Breitbart story and started tweeting. Everyone at the WH caught off guard which is why there STILL hasn't been a single official response or follow-up 14 hours later.

                            • This is a good summary of FISA and what is actually known about the 'wiretaps' vs. Trump's wild claims

Once again, Donald Trump has kicked off a media firestorm with a series of early-morning Tweets, this time leveling the serious accusation that “President Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower”  just prior to the presidential election. Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing […]
