Okay, just got home from the IMAX. It was indeed a mind bender. Nicely done.

I saw it twice, once with a friend who wanted to go and I didn't mind seeing it again. I'd noted some of the internal logic flaws mentioned by Lion Nuke and they pulled me out of the movie somewhat. There were other things that I questioned but I don't know how to create the blank "spoilers" here, if someone will tell me I'll share.

Despite the flaws, the flick pulled me in pretty deep and it was a wild ride. The very stylized, lush visuals were compelling. There was a LOT of exposition, which is why audiences could follow the film, they were absolutely necessary to keep everyone grounded as to the the narrative process and structure of the film and it was very well done. It took a few sequences before I could suspend my disbelief completely and just ride with it and despite the fact that occasional anomalies would pull me back to the real world, I was quickly sucked back into the film again.

It was a fun ride and well worth viewing. For my money, the original Matrix is probably still the best film of this type in respect to conforming to a seamless, internal logic.

And for my money, Memento is still Nolan's best flick. That the guy is a unique director is beyond question.

When you're about to reply, click on the GO ADVANCED button. Then highlight the spoiler text to select it, and click on the text color icon in the editor. It looks like an A with a dark line underneath it. Then select the white color. That will make your spoiler text white and folks will have to highlight it to read it.

"Inception" could be the Best Movie Ever made.
I'm going to have to think about this for a while...

Spoiler
But wow, everything about it was perfect.
Love, emotion, a lot of adversity, entertaining.... IDK why people didn't like the ending, but I don't know how you can end a movie better.

10/10 easily

Thanks Deborah! I'll be back later on after composing my thoughts on this flick.

Glad you enjoyed it Cody! I agree with you on the ending, I thought it resolved the entire movie perfectly. I liked the ambiguity and I don't think it's intent was to leave room for a sequel.

This might be another reason why I loved Inception so much:

"Inception may have been directed by Christopher Nolan, but Nolan's dreams are apparently directed by Michael Bay." - Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com

... Michael Bay & Christopher Nolan are my 2 favorite directors...

Shutter Island and Inception are 2 huge notches on Leonardo's belt. Dude might end up a legendary actor by the time it's said and done.

Meh.

I love Nolan. Memento? Kind of a classic.

But Inception? He kind of let down. It took him ten years to write that, ten years. That isn't ten years of immaculate epiphanies, that is having one small REALLY COOL idea (The premise of the movie really was amazing) and then spending nine years thinking of how to make into an actual watchable movie.

I am annoyed by the film. I am only telling you this because I was incredibly excited for it, probably the only movie I had really been anticipating since the road, there will be blood, no country F.O.M. But I just left the movie disappointed. Ellen Page's character pretty much ruined it, to have a character designed essentially to tie up loose plot points at every possible moment one may be confused; and to have that done by literal conversation? (She asked every possible question the audience could have) It is way too repetitive. Good books do a better job of invoking and telling a story, as do the good film makers. Also, if I had dreams like apparently Christopher Nolan does, I would be ******* bland.
It was touted as a new realm of philosophical film and it barely scratched at SO MANY interesting issues and cool ideas that arise from love, dreams, identity, self. I could go on, but I wont.

Leo already has an insane film resume. Only Nicholson and DDL compare critically. (I dont know anything about people before the 70's) Hanks is badass but he has a plethora of pappy family shit.

Any way, just a thought.

It feel better knowing that a person with a profile name "Millen was my favorite" thinks Inception is bad. lol
This means that Inception was the best movie ever!

TOUCHE.

I didn't mean to say inception was audacious... it doesn't merit the same response of utter and unreasonable sarcasm... like.. him...
