It's a function of Trump's weakness as a candidate (and incidentally, Clinton too) that he could not draw a higher % of the population than Romney, McCain, or Bush in those certain states.
If you apply your logic, and use the 1992 election, you will come out with Hillary being a far better candidate than Bill. In fact, you come out with all Dem candidates since being better since Bill took "only" 42% in 1992. No real sense in arguing, but your "outcomes" are dependent on the share of the vote in each state that went to candidates other than the Dems and Reps.

What a snowflake.

Seriously though, I've always thought this was probably going to be the one thing that he gets tired of and maybe forces him to quit - just all the bad press, people criticizing him, protestors, etc. You could see it before he even won the election - he doesn't want all the responsibility, he doesn't want the job. He'll end up quitting, blaming the swamp or some shit, then spend the rest of his life doing big rallies, making appearances on TV, etc., so he can let his base stroke him.

He's been surrounded by yes men and suckups in his business life. No one tells the emperor about his new clothes or their cash cow/job goes away. It started with his inauguration when he berated his staff for not all (in chorus) claiming it was the largest in history. Trump comes from a world where he states what reality is and his minions blindly agree. Not so in Presidential politics. He's not adjusting to reality outside of Trumpland.

another little Clinton foundation tidbit

don't believe so much in the Clinton gangs ability to make others sleep with the fishes
but I do remember hatians have been screaming for 10 years about what a rip off it was after the earthquake

"50-YR OLD HAITI OFFICIAL, Slated To Testify Against Clinton Foundation Corruption Next Week, Found DEAD In Miami With “Gunshot to the head”

It’s no secret that the Clinton Foundation has been facing credible reports of robbing impoverished Haitians who were devastated by Hurricane Hanna in 2008, through their “foundation.” Haitians have been protesting for years outside of the Clinton Foundation offices over the theft of money that was donated by individuals and businesses to the Clinton Foundation that never made it to the poorest of the poor.

One man was set to testify against the Clinton Foundation next week. That man was 50 year old former Haitian government official Klaus Eberwein. He was found dead in his Miami home with a “gunshot to the head” that’s been ruled a “suicide” by the Miami-Dade’s medical examiner records supervisor. (Think Vince Foster)

Klaus Eberwein, a former Haitian government official who was expected to expose the extent of Clinton Foundation corruption and malpractice next week, has been found dead in Miami. He was 50.

Eberwein was due to appear next Tuesday before the Haitian Senate Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission where he was widely expected to testify that the Clinton Foundation misappropriated Haiti earthquake donations from international donors.

Eberwein, who had acknowledged his life was in danger, was a fierce critic of the Clinton Foundation’s activities in the Caribbean island, where he served as director general of the government’s economic development agency, Fonds d’assistance économique et social, for three years.

According to Eberwein, a paltry 0.6% of donations granted by international donors to the Clinton Foundation with the express purpose of directly assisting Haitians actually ended up in the hands of Haitian organizations. A further 9.6% ended up with the Haitian government. The remaining 89.8% – or $5.4 billion – was funneled to non-Haitian organizations.

“The Clinton Foundation, they are criminals, they are thieves, they are liars, they are a disgrace,” Eberwein said at a protest outside the Clinton Foundation headquarters in Manhattan last year.

Take one off the list...

Former Haiti government official shoots himself in the head in Miami-area hotel
BY JACQUELINE CHARLES
jcharles@miamiherald.com

Klaus Eberwein, a former Haitian government official, was found dead Tuesday in a South Dade motel room in what the Miami-Dade medical examiner’s office is ruling a suicide.

“He shot himself in the head,” said Veronica Lamar, Miami-Dade medical examiner records supervisor. She listed his time of death at 12:19 p.m.

The address where Eberwein’s body was discovered according to police, 14501 S. Dixie Hwy., is a Quality Inn.

A supporter of former Haitian President Michel Martelly, Eberwein served as director general of the government’s economic development agency, Fonds d’assistance économique et social, better known as FAES. He held the position from May 2012 until February 2015 when he was replaced. He was also a partner in a popular pizza restaurant in Haiti, Muncheez, and has a pizza — the Klaus Special — named after him.

“It’s really shocking,” said Muncheez’s owner Gilbert Bailly. “We grew up together; he was like family.”

Bailly said he last spoke to Eberwein, 50, two weeks ago and he was in good spirits. They were working on opening a Muncheez restaurant in Sunrise, he said.

But it appears that Eberwein had fallen on hard times. An Uber spokesperson confirmed that he worked as a driver for awhile in South Florida.

During and after his government tenure, Eberwein faced allegations of fraud and corruption on how the agency he headed administered funds. Among the issues was FAES’ oversight of shoddy construction of several schools built after Haiti’s devastating Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake.

Eberwein was scheduled to appear Tuesday before the Haitian Senate’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the head of the commission, Sen. Evalière Beauplan confirmed. The commission is investigating the management of PetroCaribe funds, the money Haiti receives from Venezuela’s discounted oil program.

Daily Mail with a super-gossipy piece about a new book on Steve Bannon. Supposedly details how Chris Christie and Paul Manafort fell out with Trump among other items

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...one-germs.html

Christie certainly seems to not really wanna help out his Don anymore.

Ron Johnson accuses Mitch McConnell of a "significant breach of trust" and of being "duplicitous" on Medicaid. McConnell very much needs Johnson's vote.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/ron-jo...rticle/2008883

Edit: To follow up on that, this is from 3 weeks ago when the initial bill failed. The RNC abandoned Ron Johnson during the campaign and expected him to lose. Now he may hold a grudge and intends to annoy leadership as much as possible for the next 6 years

Breaking: Mike Lee (UT) and Jerry Moran (KS) announce they will block the bill from moving to a vote. Say they want to start from scratch; hold hearings; get some Democrats to vote for it. Healthcare Bill sounds like it's dead.

Moran in particular said something like "I won't be a rubber stamp for bad policy" which seems like a shot at McConnell or maybe Trump.

EDIT: Being pointed out that Jerry Moran was one of the few Senators to hold public town halls over the 4th of July recess. Did those influence him? Maybe so

Trump White House basically waited till 10PM last night to announce they were re-certifying the Iran Deal; says Iran is complying with the letter of the agreement but "not in spirit"

Portman's comments this morning make it sound like there's no chance he'll vote for repeal w/o replacement.
