Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

      • Texans got rid of the crackpot New England guy - Easterby, the former NE team chaplain who somehow Wormtongued his way to VP of football operations. Caserio as least has a resume, though he could definitely be Bob Quinn part 2.

Customs officials seize 422 fake Super Bowl rings from China

There’s a sucker born every minute. And there are plenty of people looking to take advantage of each and every one of them.

Case in point, 422 fake Super Bowl rings from China were seized in Illinois, according to Jordan Mendoza of USA Today.

Per the report, an import specialist reviewed the rings and determined that they were not authentic, and that they infringed on NFL trademarks. Officers suspected that the rings were going to be sold to consumers, as fake merchandise.

“Counterfeit jewelry continues to flood the e-commerce market, and these rings were focused on a select group of sports collectors and their fans,” LaFonda D. Sutton-Burke, director of border protection field operations in Chicago, said in a statement, via Mendoza.

The message from this one is obvious. Be careful when buying big-ticket memorabilia items online. Make sure you insist on appropriate proof of authenticity. And if anything about the transaction seems even slightly out of sorts, don’t go through with it.

            • IDK if Rodgers can live without it. He loves him some him...

Will both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers be back in 2023?

Posted by Mike Florio on November 30, 2022, 10:21 AM EST

              USA TODAY Sports

Not long ago, it seemed as if both Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers would retire after the 2022 season. Now, as the final third of the current campaign commences, there’s a much different vibe.

As to Brady, his recent comment that he’d rather lose than not play at all doesn’t sound like a guy who has only six regular-season games to play.

I love competing still, but, you know, at this point, like people always say, it’s day-to-day, game-to-game at this point,” Brady said on his Let’s Go! podcast on SiriusXM. “And really I’m just focused on what we need to do to improve this week and go out and practice. And that’s what I’ve always enjoyed about football. I love the sport, so I love the preparation for it.”

Does he love the idea that it soon may be ending for good? Maybe not.

Does it mean he’d continue his career with a team other than the Buccaneers? Maybe not.

As to Rodgers, he is owed $59.465 million in fully-guaranteed compensation for 2023. Why would he walk away from that? There’s no way the Packers can cut him if he decides not to retire. A post-June 1 trade is possible, but even then the cap consequences would be very significant.

Yes, Rodgers has said he thinks about retirement all the time. But he may not want 2022 to be his last act in football. And he may not want to give up nearly $60 million for one more year.

There’s ultimately only one reason for Rodgers to retire. If Brady keeps playing, it means that Rodgers and Brady won’t enter the Hall of Fame at the same time. Which means that Rodgers won’t be the remote second fiddle to Brady for that weekend in Canton.

So maybe they’ll both be back. Maybe one will be back. Still, weeks after it seemed like neither will be back, it’s hard to imagine both being gone.

              • Well, A-a-ron probably has a long career in loony podcasting ahead of him if he does retire from football.

Maybe Aaron Rodgers should finish his career with the Seahawks.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll has shown some 9/11 truther tendencies. So, apparently, has Rodgers.

Appearing on The Breneman Show podcast, former Packers quarterback DeShone Kizer said that Rodgers asked Kizer whether he believes that 9/11 actually happened.

“The first thing that comes out of Aaron Rodgers’s mouth was, ‘You believe in 9/11?’” Kizer said. “‘What? Do I believe in 9/11? Yeah, why wouldn’t I?’”

Rodgers told Kizer that he should “read up on that.”

Apparently, Rodgers got through to Kizer, not only about the conspiracy theory that 9/11 was an inside job but also other batshit-crazy concepts that plenty of people apparently believe in, contrary to all evidence, logic, and common sense.

“Inner Earth, moon landing, reptile people,” Kizer said. “Y’all are laughing. Go do your research, I’m telling you. Go do your research.”

Oh yes. The dreaded reptile people.

It’s possible Rodgers was just messing with Kizer. It’s also possible that Rodgers truly believes in a wide variety of nutty conspiracy theories.

Here’s hoping that the subject comes up during Rodgers’s his next visit with Joe Rogan. Or maybe Alex Jones.

Good thing the legit Lions Super Bowl ring I bought on Ebay still shows in transit. Even comes with a "trustworthy of for real" paper signed by Mitch Connor.

If Brady loves the sport and loves the preparation he should go the coaching route.

                      • Bears REALLY going for the tank with this move.

I’m hoping for the Bears to win one more game this season. That would provide the Rams pick with 2 games of cushion. Unfortunately, I could see the Bears losing out. Meaning… we need the Rams to lose out.
