I got my first guitar for xmas at 13 when I asked for it after seeing 'Jump'. Harmony brand Gibson clone Flying V from JC Penny. Quit playing viola and traded it and the V for a Dean later.

High school talent show @ 16 we played Scorpions Still Lovin You and Stairway to Heaven. Played a version of eruption by audience / mc demand in the closing moments of the show.

We killed. .Somewhere I should have it on VHS.

Years later in my mid 20's came across the V in a used music store and bought it. Always reminded me of Eddie, too.

Dude was an inspiration.

Yep, my youth was jam-packed trying to emulate Van Halen, ——> not trying to be the late, great Eddie...... but Emergency Room visits with a ruptured bawbag after trying to jump like Dave Lee Roth.

Bed very late last night / this morning. Had to listen to “Best of Both Worlds” until the wee small hours. That’s going to carry on today. It’s VAN HALEN day today at work.

Van Halen. They were the that cool breeze in a hot Texas summer. You don't get them often, they don't last long, but when you get them you appreciate the hell out of them.

Of all their work, one line never escapes:

Doesn’t feel right adding a “like” to a death post but just liking the YouTube clip there of Jerry Jeff Walker. That was a really great clip. Great musicians and an extremely hot fiddle player. Oh yeah!
