    • The Devil's Own (if we concede that the IRA was a mob). And sticking with Brad Pitt movies, 'Snatch' had a mob theme.

      • Yeah I like to revisit Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels every once in awhile. I also like Layer Cake, but man that ending is killer.

        • Losing this vote and having to veto the bill totally isn't bothering him a bit. He's not mad. Nope.

          • While Trump throws a hissy fit, Mitt Romney and Lamar Alexander both say they will vote for the bill. That's 7 Republican Senators publicly defying Trump. Which means, ahem- THEY LOVE CRIME AND NANCY PELOSI

well to be fair some of them are misguided as to the authority their branch gave the executive back in the 70s.

Deputy Daniel Elwell has been "Acting Administrator" ever since. His old deputy position is also currently being filled by on an "Acting" basis

Trump has not officially nominated anyone for these roles.

On the contrary, they know exactly what authority they gave the executive branch and are now attempting to roll some of that back.

they have every right to change the law, but that's not what they are doing, is it?

                    • I don't remember reading the clause in the National Emergency Act that reads "unless the President of the United States is Donald J Trump"

                      • It is legal for them to vote to block it, though. They won't be able to overturn his veto, though. I don't think they can muster 2/3.

                        • And this is the first time a President has declared an emergency after Congress denied funding for something. Sets a dangerous precedent. Hopefully, Congress will indeed roll back some of the executive's power.

not against trump doing something drastic for the border--against trump setting precedent that could be followed by a president of the future

I finished the sopranos yesterday afternoon

nice last episode especially when phil bites the dust in the last episode

overall a lot of weak episdodes in the sopranos but overall solid --but not up to the wire or GOT
