          • so if the taliban and isis are enemies

why did the taliban let them all out of jail when the US got the hell out

120000 flown out of afghanistan--supposedly only aboutt 5k were americans

maybe have the aghanis assisted the US and had some priority to get out

the other half were just lucky enough to joint the lines getting by the checkpoints to be herdered onto planes and now will reside in the US without ever having helped the US with anything

Pro-trumpers may be among the most vocal, but that doesn't explain why places like Wayne County has one of the lowest vax rates in the state, when the largest vax SITE was at Ford Field, where thousands of Michiganders received their vaccinations. The vaccines were literally taken to their doorstep, and they said "no thanks". The people who DID receive the vast majority of the shots at Ford Field were suburban/rural folks who made the trip to downtown Detroit.

This is the county in Michigan that never gets their votes in to be counted until its determined how many votes Democrat candidates need to win an election. Then those numbers are magically covered by Wayne County. Amazing.

Yeah, the same court that decided Plessy v Ferguson in 1896

Look on the bright side, Crash. Maybe all those new Afghani/Americans will come to a community near yours and mine, and open Pot shops. After all, drugs seems to be their strong suit.

Is there a single state in the country where the biggest city gets all its votes counted before the rural counties that have like 7,000 votes total? The fact that Wayne and Oakland Counties take more time to count than Antrim County is routinely pointed to as "evidence" something devious is happening. It's also entirely logical.

How'd Trump win in 2016 and Snyder win twice if Wayne County manufactures whatever votes the Dem needs, liney?

I have no proof that Wayne County manufactures votes, but its sure ironic when Democratic senate candidates always seems to be trailing with over 90% of the vote counted in Michigan, then along comes the Wayne County vote, and those senators win by 8 percentage points. Amazing. I wish Michigan could score like that on Thanksgiving weekend vs OSU.

Snyder won because his idiot predecessor was thankfully term limited. Gennifer couldn't lawfully win again, otherwise the idiots in Wayne would have given her another term. Remember, these are the people that elected Coleman Young as Mayor for Life, and then elected Kwame Kilpatrick to multiple terms.

Trump won Michigan because a lot of Hillary's voters stayed home figuring the game was over. Kind of like OSU v Michigan. Lock down win.

Trump played the game like it was in overtime, but he only won by 20K votes. IIRC, had Hillary carried Michigan, she would have been Prez. Too bad they didn't print a few more ballots.

                          • Hey, wait.. I live in Wayne County and I can guarantee that I've never voted for Granmole, Whitmer, Hillary or Biden.. You must mean Detroit proper.

And yes, there's a lot or stupid people there.

                            • A person close to me has just tested positive and contracted COVID. So far nothing serious so, yes, the vaccination that person close to me received in December is offering protection. They'll not likely suffer serious illness.

How did that person close to me contract COVID? No telling for certain but that person close to me has been in two large gatherings over the last 5d featuring unmasked attendees. This person close to me, now with COVID, was masked in both. Here are the consequences:
                              • Quarantine for 10d.
                              • This persons children are also quarantined because of close contact and will miss the first 10d of school that started today. They can't attend until it is clear they don't have COVID themselves from close contact.
                              • This person's close to me partner is quarantined and can't go to work. They are a teacher at a community college and students will start from behind as classes this person taught are cancelled.
                              • After school sports and band participation are out for 10d
                              • Two weekend sports tournament for this person's close to me children will be missed - the second in a row because the week before a team member came down with COVID
                              • Family plans this weekend are out.

This is one person. There are hundreds, probably thousands in similar situations. These are, in context, minor inconveniences. But there is a COVID infected person out there, likely unvaxed with a sufficiently high enough viral load to overwhelm the immune system of this person close to me that was vaccinated and cause infection. That this person close to me is healthy and practices the utmost health safety measures tells me that whomever did infect this person close to me very likely participated in a super-spreader event and infected others - some vaxed and some unwaxed. All of them will suffer inconveneinces. Some, not a lot, will fall ill and require acute or intensive care - the numbers tell us that but for some here, it would seem, that isn't consequential.

So, keep telling us here you're only protecting yourself if you get vaxed. No one else is being protected from a disruption of their lives or the potential for illness, if you get vaccinated. The numbers assure of this, right? .

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. JH chased Saban from Alabama and caused Day, at the point of the OSU AD's gun, to make major changes to his staff just to beat Michigan. Love it. It's Moore!!!! time
