  • Heh, it had been a pretty stagnant week up till then. Trump felt the market needed some juice!!!

Very big deal, most saying the biggest, at least that's what I hear. They said China would never buy our soybeans in a million years but I got them to buy our soybeans. I'm the only one who could!

      • I see where the at least one of the killers who attacked the Jewish bodega in Jersey City was a member or ex-member of the Black Hebrew Israelites. They have some crazy offshoot groups. Back when I used to visit DC regularly, a group of them used to constantly hang out just outside one of the busiest Metro stations downtown, screaming and ranting vile stuff.

        • Matt Gaetz went on a 5 minute tear bashing Hunter Biden and dwelled heavily on his drug problem. He wanted this crap included as part of an Amendment to the Articles of Impeachment.

When he was done it was Hank Johnson's turn (D-GA) and basically said this:

MR. CHAIRMAN, I RISE IN OPPOSITION TO THIS AMENDMENT AND I WOULD SAY THAT THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK IS NOT SOMETHING THAT WE SHOULD DO. I DON'T KNOW WHAT MEMBERS, IF ANY, HAVE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE, BE BUSTED IN DUI, I DON'T KNOW, BUT IF I DID I WOULDN'T RAISE IT AGAINST ANYONE ON THIS COMMITTEE. I DON'T THINK IT'S PROPER.

Was staring down Gaetz as he said this. Pretty well known that Gaetz was busted for DUI a decade ago and widely believe his influential daddy got him out of trouble.

          • Senate just passed the Armenian Genocide bill by unanimous consent. Last three tries a different Republican Senator had blocked it but not today. What will Turkey's reaction be?

            • Does Buckeye Jim Jordan ever get a sore throat ...jesus... Man he triggers the Dems. But, shouldn't he be back defending his role covering up rape in the college athlete sex abuse cases at The OSU? I can't get past that watching his non-stop yelling about the Facts are on Trumps side.

Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

                • Random thoughts:

If exit polls are even close to accurate your boy Corbyn will be resigning within 24 hours. Could be Labor's worst result since 1935.

If the Conservatives have as big a majority as they're predicted to get it actually makes the chances of a soft Brexit go up. Boris can more easily ignore the psychos and the DUP if he's got a huge majority

The ironic thing is...Boris is probably more pro-EU than Corbyn is. The Hard Left have always been Euro-skeptics. If you went back and and looked at their positions before the Brexit vote, that's definitely the case, and if you could get an honest answer out of both it still would be.

The exit poll predicts nearly every goddamn seat in Scotland will be controlled by the SNP. Both the Conservatives and Labor will be nearly extinct there. Does that mean another referendum very soon and if so, will it succeed this time?

                        • 1) The UK is rejecting Labor because they are too far Left

                          2) The UK is rejecting Labor because Corbyn has no Brexit strategy. He's not really in favor of staying but he knows he can't favor leaving either.

                          3) The UK is rejecting Labor because Corbyn turns a blind eye to antisemitism and is himself an antisemite.

I'm guessing 2 & 3 are actually bigger reasons than #1 but who really knows. However you explain it, this is the worst defeat for Labor since before Churchill became PM. Wow

                          • Let me throw this out there too

The SNP is about to completely dominate Scotland. The two major parties will be virtually wiped out.

A DUP seat just flipped over to the Alliance Party. For those unaware, this means that for the first time ever Northern Ireland is on track to have more members of Parliament who favor union with Ireland and secession than remaining part of the UK.

We'll see if things shake out that way but it's looking like two out of four parts of the UK will have secessionists in charge.

                              • Great news for the UK .....the British economy and global investors. DSL, you should be cheering the news of the resounding defeat of socialism for the sake of your 401K!!!

Read an article yesterday about what it would mean for investors and the UK economy if Boris didn't win a solid majority in Parliament. It was bleak mostly over continuing uncertainty over Brexit.

If Corbyn in a long shot won? Really bleak.
There is such a thing as redemption. Jim Harbaugh is redeemed at the expense of a fading Ryan Day and OSU. M wins back to back games v. OSU first time since 1999-2000 - John Cooper was fired in 2000!!!
