    • Joe's Presser:

      Inflation: Caused by greedy businesses

      Malaise in the country: Covid

      Legislative failures: Fuckin' Republicans

Joe looked lost about the whole speech. Stumbled and stammered reading the teleprompter. When answering questions he has to look at his notes. None of this is from his heart. His strings are being pulled. But bottom line is...he blamed all his failures on others. Pass the buck Joe.

        • FBI has apparently raided Rep. Henry Cuellar's (D-TX) house in Laredo

LAREDO — The FBI conducted what it described as “court-authorized” law enforcement activity at the Laredo home of U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar on Wednesday. Agents were also present at his downtown campaign office in Laredo. Although FBI spokesperson Roseanne Hughes did not identify what the agency is investigating, she did issue a statement acknowledging the...

          • Supreme Court rules against Trump. Denies him an injunction. Congress will get what they requested from the National Archives.

Thomas the only one who would have given Trump the injunction, with no rationale as to why. Kav puts out a statement saying he could foresee situations where a former President might get to overrule an acting President (but apparently did not feel that was the case here).

                  • It seems as if The Chairman is certainly ready fully embrace the title of Putin's Cockholster Part 2 and let Putin get away with "minor incursions" into the Ukraine. The Orginal Putin's Cockholster simply allowed Putin to do whatever the fuck he wanted in Crimea. Fortunately, we had a 4-year break from sucking Putin's cock, but we're right back good ol' "speak loudly and carry a tiny stick" diplomacy.

Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                    • Zelenski certainly didn't over-react to the thoughtless ramblings of our CINC. There's a bit of theater here with Putin front and center on stage. He's a Czarist intent on restoring the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, disgracefully, in his mind, dissolved in 1991 - or at least he'll take Ukraine, already partly absorbed with the taking of the Crimea. Zelenski is dealing with a roiling, pro-Russia separatist movement in the east that Putin is arming, supporting and using them as his own proxy military force to stir up trouble.

There are several viewpoints on the likelihood that Putin will order a full-scale invasion of Ukraine with the intent of re-establishing that country as a pre-'91 Soviet style Republic. I ascribe to this one: Putin cannot launch a military campaign of that style and size without encountering a well armed and resistant Ukranian population - 300m Ukrainian citizens have military training and won't sit by idly while Russian tanks roll towards Kiev. An armed incursion of any size would be bloody and costly for Putin and that alone, ignoring the possibility of NATO engaging Russia militarily on that battlefield. Not only that, Putin couldn't hold Ukraine - at least that is the view of some. It would be Russian troops in Afghanistan 2.0. It wouldn't go well. Ukrainians aren't fond of Vlad and his dictatorial form of government.

I thought Biden's comment that seemed to Zelenski to be greenlighting a "small" Russian incursion, although he never should have said it, was intended as signal (or a slip of the tongue) that the US and NATO have already set a threshold for implementing sanctions with follow-on military engagement in escalating stages with whoever, Russians or Ukrainian separatists, are dressed up as combatants by NATO. IOW, a type of limited military operation undertaken by Putin - and you can be sure this is in the cards, and NATO expects it to be, would merely be a test to see how NATO responds. Such a "small" operation won't trigger NATO ordering it's forces into combat operations. Something like that SHOULDN"T precipitate ordering NATO forces into combat. The cost to Putin would be high if after probing for a response he escalates. I have no doubt a contingency to respond militarily however is on the table and Putin knows it is.

There is such a thing as redemption. Jim Harbaugh is redeemed at the expense of a fading Ryan Day and OSU. M wins back to back games v. OSU first time since 1999-2000 - John Cooper was fired in 2000!!!

                      • ....... Biden just walked back the statement he made yesterday that pissed ofd Zelinsky. He said, "If any assembled Russian units move across the Ukrainian border, that is an invasion." The rest of what I said above about NATO contingencies on the table if that happens remains.
