  • Thanks, Deb.

    Interesting........
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

    • And yeah, every time it said "on DVD only" I went out and grabbed it on a torrent.
The only thing missing from that Marvin Jones touchdown reversal is that it wasn't a first round playoff game.

Netflix is great for old tv shows and house of cards is amazing so far.

There are a lot of good documentaries on Netflix, too.

                • Dear Coleen: Should I become an escort?

4 Feb 2013 17:31 I don't see it as prostitution and I think it would be a good way to make quick money

                  Dear Coleen,
I’m 20 and always short of money. I live with my parents and work as a receptionist but I never have enough cash to make it through the month.
I love going out, buying clothes and want to enjoy nice holidays and get my own place but I just can’t see that ever happening.
A friend recently told me about a local escort agency. She said you can make really good money and all you need to do is go on dates with older guys – either to restaurants or parties – and pretend to be their girlfriend.
You don’t have to have sex. I’m pretty and I know I’d probably get taken on at the agency.
I don’t see it as prostitution and I think it would be a good way of making some quick money. Do you think there are any risks?
                  Coleen says..
On paper it sounds like a great deal – you accompany a rich man to a nice party, look pretty on his arm and make hundreds.
In reality, it’s not that straightforward. For a start, the agency will take a commission.
While escort girls always start off thinking they’ll never have sex with the men they meet, they often end up doing just that.
You’ll get used to the cash and one night a man may offer to pay extra if you have sex.
Escorting can be a slippery slope to prostitution. If you do start earning good money, it can be hard to go back to ‘real life’ and a regular job. What if you got a boyfriend? What would he think?
Lastly, what about safety? My alarm bells are ringing loudly for you. Why don’t you take the longer – but less demeaning – route to success and work hard? You’re only 20.
You’ll feel so much prouder of yourself if you do things properly.

I use a computer mainly to surf the internet, compose word processing and spreadsheets, downloading music, and PowerPoint. I'm not into playing games on my computer, that's what my Xbox is for. If anyone has some suggestions of what I should look for in storage, ram, processor, etc I would greatly appreciate it.
This is what I posted earlier, but I can see it getting lost with the talk about hulu and netflix covering it up. Been looking at some websites, and wondering if I should look into tablets since that seems to be the new thing

How much portability do you want, Frank? The tablet pcs are usually smaller and lighter, but you'll probably end up with external dvd-drives and such. Also the hard drive will be smaller too.

                          • I have a convertible tablet, but I rarely find myself using the touch functions. For me, it's still easier to use the mouse and keyboard.

The portability feature would be nice, I find my current laptop a bit bulky, and the battery life, even on power conservation, is limited, 2 hrs tops. If I was to go with tablet it would be more like the Microsoft Surface, not an iPad.

                              • sorry, it's a compulsion. I'm working on it. (not quite sure if I'm working to stop it or get better random answers, but I am working on it.

As to the computer, my bet would be on the laptop but I'm prejudiced that way.
