Kept telling people at work that I was going to Boston on Friday. Every response - "Oh. Do you have family there?"

Have to remember to put "concert" after the Boston part.
It's so flat you can watch your dog run away for three days.

      • There's some bands coming through the Detroit area I'd love to see. Ain't paying that much money though. And the price listed isn't even the final price. They can really jack that final price up there with all their BULLSHIT charges.
        GO LIONS "23" !!

I miss the days when you could just walk up to the ticket office at Cobo and buy concert tickets for $15.

          • I've missed a few concerts that I wish I had known about. The only upcoming one I'd really LOVE to see is Alice in Chains at the casino in Mt. Pleasant. But work will prevent me from attending, as usual.

All work and no play, makes for a dull DEB.

Why earn money from a job if you can't spend it on things you want to do? /rhetorical life question

                  • I missed BOSTON (all time favorite band also) at Shoreline on Aug 1st. Would have loved to see them but family commitments prevented that.

                    • Isn't the main dude dead?

Seeing Boston without its lead singer would be like seeing The Guess Who without Burton Cummings

                      • Death of Brad Delp (2007)

On March 9, 2007, lead singer Brad Delp committed suicide at his home in Atkinson, New Hampshire. Police found Delp dead in his master bathroom, along with several notes for whoever would find him. In the bathroom where Delp committed suicide, two charcoal grills were found on the bathroom fixtures, and the door sealed with duct tape and a towel underneath. Police Lt. William Baldwin called the death "untimely" and said that no foul play was indicated. Delp was alone at the time of his death, according to the police report. Delp was found by his fianc?e, who saw a dryer hose attached to his car. According to the New Hampshire medical examiner, Delp's death was the result of suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning as evidenced by carboxyhemoglobin. Delp's last concert with Boston was performed at Boston Symphony Hall on November 13, 2006, at a concert honoring Doug Flutie.

I saw them in Newcastle, Australia a longggg time ago. I remember taking off my shirt (you're welcome ladies), flinging it at Layne Staley (you're welcome Layne), then asking an Aussie bouncer at the Worker's Club if he thought he could break my nose. His response was thankfully tolerant of an annoyingly drunk yank and something to the tune of "I could give it a go, mate". Next flash was an obnoxious dipshit of a drunk SITTING in the mosh pit and air guitaring, looking like a toolus majoris, while "Rooster" was playing for an encore.

Moral: Everclear and Tooheys Draught are a bad combo.
Where are we going; and what's up with this hand basket?

                          • WInning the biggest possible stuffed animal (pink unicorn) at the request of my daughter on the first carnival game I played at the county fair, made a lot of people's day today. It was one of those knock the three blocks completely off the stand with a softball to win any prize games.

I blew that shit up. Blocks flew everywhere and it even scared the girl working it because blocks were a flying at high speed. An Asian dude that was watching said, man you threw that ball hard. Yep. Blew that game up. I had played a buy one game and get a game free coupon and won on the first ball. She told me because I won on the first one, I couldn't play the next one. Someone else could throw it but not me.

Bullshitting carnies. They don't like to lose their merchandise but will take ur money all day without delay.

Making my kid super happy always make my day.

@ Panoptes, hope that DP gig was decent. Great memories of seeing them at the Ed Playhouse in '87.
