My daughter and I did our annual cook off.
This years theme was mango tango.
I am not sure if we picked the wrong week or the wrong ingredient but this years turn out was pretty sparse.
Luckily, my homies turned out to help pad the voting box but alas, nieces and nephews are too big in numbers and too vocal even when they are not listening to instructions for voting.
Good time had by all!
My contribution:
Meatballs in Mango Habanaro Beer B Q sauce.
Grilled bone in chicken thighs with Mango Habanaro Beer B Q sauce
Grilled portebella burgers with mango and avocado salsa
Mango Chutney for the chicken
Mango slaw
Mango and Mango and Cherry Sherbert
Mango and Mango and Cherry Ice Cream
Mango Crisp.
Both my daughter and I have learned to not pay any attention to the voice vote but to pay more attention to the comments about the dishes and more importantly, judge by leftovers.
Well, there were not many leftovers and my daughter conceded the win (because really her vote counts the most as she is very competitive with her culinary skills and loves taking on the old man).I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.Comment
