  • I think Deuce tries to analyze music too much. Nobody in America ever turned on Oasis. They just never got that big.

Noel Gallagher has disowned Be Here Now, but he's too close to the situation. It might be their best album. Nobody wants a skinny Santa Claus.

    • Not a big fan of that new Pearl Jam song.

The hype arrived before they did. I heard the dreaded "biggest thing since the Beatles" tag applied to them

They were huge after Morning Glory.

They were like the Beatles, except better.

No not really. They charted one top 10 single in the US. Their albums sold well enough, but they were never huge. They never drew well on tour and Noel Gallagher always laments on how they never hit it big in America. In fact he mentions it a lot.

Internationally they were huge. But they never hit it big in the US, nor did any other group from the BritPop scene of the 90's. Not to the point where they had crossover appeal. If you wanted to hear Oasis you listened to an alternative radio station.

Or watched MTV.....Back then, that is how you got big If you were an MTV band, you were huge and that allowed you to cross over without needing huge top 40 hits. BTW, Oasis was selling out the Palace by 96.

                        They are obviously Beatles fanatics.

                        • Noel Gallagher has a ridiculous amount of talent. His brother is supposed to be the voice, but I actually prefer Noel's to Liam's.
