Heading to the casino this weekend. I am going to throw down a green chip ($25 at this place) at the roulette wheel. The win (and I will win) will be donated to the forum. I am thinking of throwing down a street bet (3 numbers) and need a little help. If anyone wants to throw out a number, preferably a Lions jersey number, I will make that a part of the bet.

Really? You think there would be a lot of people wanting to stand in a return line at 4 on Christmas day? I doubt it.

I doubted there would be a lot of people willing to stand in line on Thanksgiving Day to get into a store to start their shopping but, I was wrong about that.

Why wouldn't they want to get a jump on trading in the gifts they didn't care for and scooping up something they prefer on sale or clearance?

To some (and let this be clear, I can not be counted in this group) getting perceived value is more important than creating or participating in family memories.

My teen son Zachary, on his mother's side, is related to Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch.

For Christmas I got him '56 and '57 Topps cards of Hirsch, and a 1939 high school yearbook of his sophomore year, that contains his autograph. Pics of the book:
