  • According to SVG, Drummond hits about 70% in pracitce but cant do it in the games for some reason.....Its more mental now than physical.....They should have hired a psychologist instead of a shooting coach.

    • I think the fans need to start chanting his name as a form of encouragement and even if he misses just keep cheering.

      Desperate times...

      • At least they looked more aggressive today.

          • Drummond is 1-14 FT (7%) in his last two games... perhaps worse than the 13-36 FT (36%) performance?
After that 23 miss game, that would have been nice to seem Drummond REALLY work at his free throws. Apparently he isn't or it is bothering him a lot.

Ah, the "he isn't practicing free throws enough" line...because that's the problem. I'm sure Andre is really happy to never ever be in the game in crunch time.

Drummond would make more free throws then.
                (unless you are sarcastic?)

Because it isn't an issue of "wanting to" enough. If that was the case then no one would ever miss a free throw.

He's terrible at it, but it's a mental issue. The idea that he isn't practicing enough is stupid. SVG runs the team. If he tells andre to shoot 5,000 free throws in practice, that's what he's going to be spending his practice time on.

He's the worst FT shooter in history right now. His form isn't great but it is not nearly that bad. His head is fucked up.

                    • It's obviously bothering him a lot, and it's become such a big issue that it's made it even worse. He's like a golfer with the worst case of the yips ever.

                      • One thing that always helped me with FTs is that there should be a nail in the floor that lines up perfectly with the rim. If you are off just a shade then it makes a big difference.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

                        • Maybe the Pistons should lobby for a rule change that on a foul you can opt for the ball out of bounds instead of shooting free throws (with the exception of the And 1 free throw after a made basket)
                          Lions free since 6/23/2020

There are so many ways the NBA can fix this... it's a matter of deciding which one. As much as "traditionalists" wring their hands over it (ironically because the rule that did away with the free throw specialist if you will is fairly recent), the NBA isn't going to let these games continue happening for too long, especially as more and more teams are trying it.

                            • Looks like he went seven for twelve tonight from the free throw line. Let's hope he can keep that going.
