He wanted to go to another team? Have any proof of that? If he want to go to another why did he repeatedly renegotiate his contract before it ever terminated? In other words, if he wanted to go to another team why didn't he ever put himself in the position to be able to?

Fact is, all he ever wanted to be was the highest payed running back, he always made sure of that. He never cared about winning. He said that on the Letterman show after the season where they lost to Green Bay in the playoffs for the second year in a row. Hell, letterman finally asked him -" are you sure you're in the right line of work?"

    • Why wouldn't the greatest ever be paid the most? Isn't that how this works?

And yes, proof. Read his book. There you go.

      • Lee was overrated.

But really, comparing Pickett's charge to Stafford, the stupidity tops itself.

            Would winning make a difference?

Again, why didn't he ever put himself in a position to move to another team? Why did he always hold the Lions hostage to renegiating his contract if he wanted to leave?

Maybe you can find it somewhere
He also was willing to be traded to another team (the Dolphins came up as one team that inquired), and Ol' Man Ford personally declared Sanders was either going to play for the Lions or no one.

So Barry decided, "Okay, fine. No one."

It wasn't so much wanting to go to another team as it was not wanting to risk his body when the organization was having a fire sale and cutting his buddies and he knew he would never see a SB as a Lion.

Dew Ye Fucking Understand Ye Bell End!!!!!

It was not out of his possibilities to play elsewhere, and he just told you, that might have changed things. He doesn't know.

Because of these things called contracts and franchise tags.

                    FFS.

And because he assimilated, and he is Detroit, bitch-ass. And because he is the GOAT. And he is a Fucking Lion. Are you fucking stupid?

He didn't want to leave. He is a fucking Lion at heart. He wanted the Front Office to do what was neccessary for a Super Bowl run, not worry about selling $12 donuts.

Fuck man, do I have to speak in slow motion?

OK, I think you are thinking of N'Domney Kong Sue. Barry is as humble as they come. I am sure his agent was not. Guess what? I bet he WAS the highest paid RB. And woth every penny. You understand this right? ...Right?

Cuz I am not starting a Barry Sanders is the suckiest suck thread.

no, just stop making stuff up.

FACtHT - He never asked for a trade.

FACT - He could of let his contact run out but he consistently held the Lions hostage to renegotiate and extend his contract.

Barrys contract stipulated that he had to be paid amongst the top 2 RB's in the game (or was it the highest paid period).

As the other RB contracts increased, Barry, by contract, had to have his adjusted. And rightly so to play in Detroit.

Fuck, this was a headline for weeks, if you were alive at the time. It was a big stand-off over it, ending in the retirement of the greatest of all time with hours of notice.

                              Fuck. Hello?

Worth every penny, and good for him. And duh?
