    • Also, Bama at #1 of the 2019 247 Composite with the addition of 4-star lineman Darrian Dalcourt. It will be short-lived. Georgia's class is monster.

            • If we really wanted to know we'd look it up but it's pathetic they never even attempt to play a non conference road game. Neutral site games are a step up from playing non P5 programs. An elite program like bama shouldn't be afraid to play a tough road game.

Because the question was not serious. But if it is, it is idiotic. Also, I am not the research boy to assign tasks to report back on, and 25 years? Heh. No.

Yes, look it up if you want to. Or I will assign you silly things to research about M.

2 premiere neutral site games are the same as playing a home and away. +0/-0 and +3/-3. Only a complete moron thinks it's because Bama is afraid. We do it for the exposure, getting the team ready for a bowl atmosphere, and recruiting. Yes, we have to GIVE UP playing a home game against a good team every other year (people only remember that we give up the road game), but it has paid major dividends. It's just smart.

                  • And we will ditch the kick off game for the right team. We did it for Penn State, we did it for Texas (coming up in a couple of years), and we would do it for any sufficiently elite team. Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC (who incidentally has asked for another neutral site game with us - scheduled for Arlington year after next). Etc, etc.

                    • When M agreed to it against us back in 2012, they had solid reasons to do so. That memory is a bit tarnished now because Hoke didn't have the team ready and the opponent was, well, Ala-fuckin-Bama, but it made sense. Playing in Arlington, in the middle of Texas HS bluechips and the game was a top 10 game for TV ratings that year. It made so much sense that M scheduled another kickoff game again (against Florida last year).

Anyway. We certainly didn't invent the idea. In fact, there are teams that play off campus every year and give up a true home and away on-campus game in conference play to get the bowl atmosphere. Texas-OU and Florida-Georgia come to mind. I guess we could argue that those teams are scared to play on the other's campus, but we don't because it's stupid to do so.

                            • Neutral site games, yes Roll Tide -- as long as they don't go north of the Mason Dixon Line!

                              • The Mason-Dixon line argument is ridiculous. We will fly more than 500 miles to Arlington and more than 500 miles to Orlando, we would also fly above the Mason-Dixon line for a kickoff game if one existed. So, other than one not existing, we would ideally want a HS football hotbed. Would love one in Ohio. Also hope they make a kickoff game in California. That way we could rotate between Texas, Georgia, Florida, California, and Ohio.

The whole how far you fly shit is silly. It used to make sense back in train and bus days, but major college teams fly to destinations now. The belief than an elite athlete is bothered by no more than a 5-hr flight on a plane is silly.
