What would be more relevant to this censorship claim is really if Trump was not allowed to spin up a server and get a connection on the internet. I don't mean an Amazon or Azure instance, like a physical server to connect to the public internet. When you are speaking on the internet almost all the time you are using some other companies resources and ultimately you are at their mercy. I think where it has to go is complete decentralization. This idea of "owned" platforms has to go.

I expect something more akin to a blockchain model, where there is no central server, no one owner. Connections would be made, and communication would be encrypted, distributed across the network, and shared between nodes.

This is, and always has been, the exciting promise of the interwebs. This era of giant tech companies is a holdover from the old days.

I haven't dealt with anything Apple in a long time, but do they even allow apps that don't come from their store? And I can tell you that most android users would probably be paralyzed trying to install something that doesn't come fron the store.

Wait, what? Installing apps off the store on Android is as simple as changing one option in the settings to allow untrusted downloads and then downloading it.

It's just you ackowledging things not on their store aren't subject to their security checks.

There is nothing difficult about it. Being upset about it really just means you are lazy asf because you can literally just say "ok Google how do install an app that isn't on the store" or use any other service provider and take a few seconds longer to type it and you have your answer in seconds.

We've had this test case before and I usually give them a little leeway before deciding to boot them to the curb.
