Swanson was fighting for a depth role but evidently did not show enough. Concussions have dogged Swanson over the past two years.

When he took 5 weeks to recover from his first concussion the fat lady was warming up her pipes on his career.

Watching him try to play guard for a few pre-c snaps for the Jets was sad. Imo, he looked fine at C, they just had an in house guy they liked better as a versatile back up. I didn't see that guy (#61) as being any better at C. I watched.

An 11-game starter for the Lions last season, Swanson was not able to earn a roster spot with the Jets during training camp. He will serve as experienced interior depth for the Dolphins.
