Michigan now has another Schembechler on staff.
Glenn "Shemy" Schembechler III has joined the Michgian football staff as Assistant Director of Football Recruiting.
Schembechler III has spent many years in the NFL, evaluating talent for several teams including the Redskins, Raiders and Chiefs.

I'm offended by the Loon Agenda being forced down people throats who object to the Loon Agenda. His hiring was puzzling in the first place. Always thought some was a little off with him.
That said, the “like” that cost him his job was on a comment discussing Thomas Sowell’s opinion that government assistance has done more harm than good to the black community. The post that got him in trouble was then clarified by the author. The thrust of the argument was that black folks overcame so much re: slavery and Jim Crow and that’s made them stronger in the long run. This was turned into “Schemy thinks slavery and Jim Crow was a good thing.”
Ace Anbender, formerly of MGoCult, has a Twitter thread where he reposted a bunch of Schemy’s “disqualifying” retweets and likes. They were basically posts from Ben Shapiro and Don Bongino types speaking out against transgenderism or the 2020 riots. That just sent ‘Ol Ace into a tizzy and he started @ing Umich to these absolutely horrifying views.
As soon as it was known that he resigned because of tweets, it was obvious on which side of the political divide he fell. The only question was how bad/crazy were his posts. It seems like retweeting fairly mainstream conservative commentators was the extent of it other than the single “like” that branded him a racist proponent of slavery and Jim Crow.

Shemy resigned because he knew that even though he exercised a constitutionally protected right, the politics of today's world is so intolerant, that they would have made keeping his job impossible. This is the very thing that the founding fathers were opposed to, and its why the right to free speech and expression is constitutionally protected. If Jefferson were alive today, he'd be ashamed and what this country has become. And, he'd likely be in jail for his beliefs.
Where does all this end? Just this past week Michelle Obama spoke in total opposition to the Second Amendment. She said citizens should not be armed. Lots of people love the Obamas. Are they going to gather the political clout to somehow have the Constitution thrown out and re-written to their liking?
This isn't pearl-clutching, folks. This seems to be where we are heading.
