NY Democrat Rep. Mondaire Jones used a congressional COVID rule to assign another lawmaker to vote for him on more than a dozen bills in the House of Representatives — while he partied on the French Riviera at HBO star Issa Rae’s lavish wedding, The NY Post has learned.
The Democrat — who represents New York’s Hudson Valley but is currently in a crowded field vying for a new Park Slope-Lower Manhattan district — said au revoir to the hot and humid Washington, DC, summer while voting via a proxy while citing the “public health emergency.”
The allowance was enacted by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to let COVID-stricken members vote as well as to reduce their potential exposure to the virus while traveling from their districts to the nation’s capital.

Un-fucking-believable.
Democrats may not understand "Markets", but they do understand "Marketing". Lie to people enough, tell them that you care about them and look like you're doing something is a brilliant marketing strategy. I'm not sure how they'll be able to THIS economy, but it's going to be fun see how they try.

President Biden once again accused oil companies of not doing enough to offset soaring gas prices on Wednesday, telling the seven major refiners their profit margins were “well above normal,” as the White House continued to point fingers for economic problems everywhere but at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
50 plus years in Washington and the man still doesn't understand how markets work? Is he this stupid or ignorant or is he being disingenuous?

If by "Biden" you mean "Putin/Trump/Covid/Republicans/Greedy Corporations" then correct.

To reiterate, that's not to imply Biden is blameless.

If you haven't been following this little drama, all three county commissioners in Otero County, NM are rabid Trumpers. They have been refusing to certify the results of the June 7 primary. They do so against the advice of the County Clerk, who runs elections, who is also a Republican. They cite no specific allegations, they simply refuse to certify any election in which voting machines were used (Dominion in this case). Yesterday the New Mexico Supreme Court ordered them to certify the vote by friday. If they don't do it, the NM Sec of State will recommended criminal charges to the state AG and likely begin proceedings to remove them from office.
One of the three is Couy Griffin, who founded "Cowboys For Trump" and participated in Jan 6th. He's already been convicted of some minor charges and was supposed to be sentenced on Friday. Prosecutors are likely to bring up this ongoing crap when pressing the Judge to not go too easy on him.
