  • Only under Biden could breaking news of the president’s son naked with a hooker complaining that Russians stole his laptop to blackmail him be not a story at all in the main stream media.

There's kind of a bigger story out there right now than another Hunter Biden sextape leaking.

                • Hilarity from the Afghan UN delegate:

There is no time for a blame game anymore. We have an opportunity to prevent further violence, prevent Afghanistan descending into civil war, and becoming a pariah state. Therefore the Security Council and the UN Secretary-General should use every means at its disposal to call for an immediate cessation of violence and respect for human rights and international humanitarian law.
This is right up their with Jen Psaki warning that the Taliban is risking recognition by the international community and Nancy Pelosi warning the Taliban -- "the world is watching!". It's almost as if the Left expects their cancel culture shaming and other bullshit to work against a Dark Ages Thugocracy. It's amazing. It's just fucking amazing that anyone would seriously say something so fucking detached from reality.

There are two options here: (1) stay in Afghanistan indefinitely to ensure some sort of humantiarian win; OR (2) leave Afghanistan and throw those people to the Dark Ages Thugocracy. There is no "leave Afghanistan and it all works out" option. That anyone thinks that or is suggesting that the Taliban will respond to anything other than explosives up their ass is shocking.

Or maybe we just let CNN send in their camera crews to observe the Taliban being the Taliban. That should be a good reality check for them.

                    • Look, this is an unmitigated disaster from the standpoint of the visuals. If you are a red-blooded American and tears come to your eyes when the flag is raised at sporting events with "oh say can you see" pounding out in the background, this sucks. Having served, defeat sucks. Given the general competence of the US military, first takes on the pull-out produce a WTF response. But the cluster fuck that was Vietnam isn't that long ago and this looks a lot like that ...... LOOKS is the operative word here. But there's an opening here. Can the Biden administration turn chopped liver into Caviar?

Getting out of that shit hole, unimportant on the list of undertakings that should be considered as US grand strategy, is a good thing. The endpoint of when having a stable government friendly to the US in Afghanistan was killing OBL. Withdrawal should have begun then with "mission accomplished" stamped on that legitimate piece of grand strategy achieved by a decent mix of diplomatic and military action. Going forward, the "goat herders" can have it and govern Afghanistan and it's citizens like a 15th century Ottoman Caliphate. Fuck-'em.

OK, now what? Shit-can the dominant strategic perspective in the United States today: primacy. That grand strategy to secure US national security requires a massive military, huge defense spending, and frequent military intervention around the world. Hanni's posts are saying the same thing. Sound familiar? You can trace that approach to what emerged following FDR's reluctant entry into WWII. That was precipitated by a gigantic grand strategy fuck-up by Imperial Japan that drew the US in. FOr them it produced Hiroshima and getting butt-fucked on the deck of the USS Missouri anchored in Tokyo Bay surrendering their swords to MacArthur. Good show ....... but that was the last of it. Since then the grand strategy of primacy has produced failure after failure of American post WWII FP.

What's the option: a more restrained foreign policy. Actually, that was and should now be the default position for US FP going forward. The founders believed neutrality free markets, individualism and peace should define US FP. It hasn't and should. Not an easy undertaking given the last 60+ years of pursuit of American primacy. This approach doesn't mean caving. It means realistically assessing legitimate challenges to US national security. But those challenges are less traditionally interventionist and military and more about developing a skilled workforce, technology and trade. That's a paradigm shift. I'm hopeful.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. JH chased Saban from Alabama and caused Day, at the point of the OSU AD's gun, to make major changes to his staff just to beat Michigan. Love it. It's Moore!!!! time

This one gets attention because the US got involved as a revenge tour after 9/11. North Korea only gets attention because they keep launching crappy test missiles in the ocean. But there's all sorts of other bad places in Africa, Asia and South America that are are only noted on maps and Jeopardy questions.

But no, we only think about what goes on here, and what goes on in "nice" places - like Europe and Japan, and that those places are nice because we "fixed" them..

Those other places have never been nice and they can't be fixed.
Don't you know that it's racist to refer to other countries as shitholes?

                          • It's been pretty clear for a long time, that everything is "racist".

And, BTW, everything causes "climate change" too.
