agree.. Trump will not win in 2020. But what will happen is the D's will go anti-trump... while behaving like Trump... Thus pushing a backlash. And many of us will note once again the parties are just two sides to one coin while listening to most of America argue over who is more corrupt.

That isn't what happened in 2018 though, they barely mentioned him. Somebody did a study and he was the least mentioned incumbent president in midterm election history by the opposition. Being ant-Trump is ineffective and won't work.

                        • They didn't have to mention him. No one is undecided on PDJT. He wrecked the Rs in the suburbs. Even suggesting that the 2018 election wasn't about PDJT is unfathomable, at least to me.

But, hey, maybe the Ds just won on policy.

                          • It's not as if there's anybody on the D side with the deprativty to either a) act like Trump or b) support him from a position of power in Congress by being as thoroughly corrupt as McConnell and Ryan. Al Franken's the test case there. The Ds didn't even have the capacity to shout and bluster through a minor faked scandal like that. They turned on Franken almost immediately. There's no way they could support a Trump-like D were there any real and substantive allegations. I don't think there's any basis in continuing to argue that both sides are of the same coin. They're both for sale, but that's just like saying that hot dogs and a New York strip are the same thing because they are both made of beef.

                            • Nowhere did I say that wasn't the case, but they didn't mention him, you don't need to mention him and behaving like Trump won't win the nomination. Most of the winners in the Big Blue Wave were incredibly bland, the reason AOC rents space in the GOP's head is she fairly unique in that she's quotable. Besides Trump is like a unicorn, there's nobody who can act like this dude. He's like a special case cultivated over 30 years and he's fooled a lot of people. The outer boroughs insult comic works for him and him only.

Isn't that what I just said?

There's a prerequisite you're missing -- she's a liberal media darling. A nothing rep got gads of undeserved air-time on ridiculous stages because she is the new wave. Then she opened her mouth and the Rs rightly mocked the everliving shit out of her.

Besides Trump is like a unicorn,
I agree, but that also calls to mind Mencken's sage gambling advice re the American public.
