  • It’s tweets like this one that reveal just how wildly ignorant Trump still is when it comes to the operation of the government. There’s going to be a vote in the House on Saturday and a hearing in the House on Monday. Republicans have zero say. Why did he tag Mitch McConnell? Does he think this is all happening in the Senate? Or does he think Mitch can tell Pelosi what to do?

        ^^^^ This ^^^^

If they were to be truthful, and openly tell America that:

They not only want your guns, they want to rewrite the Constitution to eliminate that part permanently,
They want to defund, decrease, and in some cases totally eliminate law enforcement officers,
They want to control your religious beliefs and make your faith conform to a government litmus test,
They want you to believe what they believe or they will assign you as a "(____)"-phobic. Therefore, you're mentally ill, and require treatment and re-education,
They want to eliminate private and home schooling because it restricts government control of what your children learn. The government knows how to raise your kids better than you do.
If you're white, they want your home and property. And while you're at it, turn over your bank accounts voluntarily, or they'll seize it by government edict.
All races are not equal. Some lives matter more than others.

Their chances of being elected and re-elected would diminish considerably. Of course there are bastions of liberalism that would scream with orgasmic delight if the above changes were made, but its more fun when you can require the rest of the masses to conform to what you want. After all, New England, the West Coast states and Illinois know what's best for all of us.

Karl Marx and Vlady Lenin would be smiling if they could see America today.

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work . Corporate America is now fully pozzed.

I surrender. I even paid the NHL five bucks for their digital package this year.

            • FWIW Goodyear has elaborated more and said the image that's been widely circulated wasn't created or distributed by Goodyear's corporate office and was never part of any diversity training

              • Montana Supreme Court rules that the Montana Green Party must be removed from the November ballot. It was discovered that a signature-gathering operation to put them ON the ballot was actually run and financed by the Montana GOP; the actual Green Party had nothing to do with it.

                • Not found on Fox News: GOP led Senate Intel Committee released (the other day) their findings on Russian interference. They have concluded that (quotes in italics)

The Committee found that the Russian government engaged in an aggressive, multifaceted effort to influence, or attempt to influence, the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

The Committee found that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian effort to hack computer networks and accounts affiliated with the Democratic Party and leak information damaging to Hillary Clinton and her campaign for president. Moscow's intent was to harm the Clinton Campaign, tarnish an expected Clinton presidential administration, help the Trump Campaign after Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee, and undermine the U.S. democratic process.

While the GRU and WikiLeaks were releasing hacked documents, the Trump Campaign sought to maximize the impact of those leaks to aid Trump's electoral prospects. Staff on the Trump Campaign sought advance notice about WikiLeaks releases, created messaging strategies to promote and share the materials in anticipation of and following the release, and encouraged further leaks. The Trump Campaign publicly undermined the attribution of the hack-and-leak campaign to Russia and was indifferent to whether it and WikiLeaks were furthering a Russian election interference effort.

The committee found that (other than Manafort) the Trump Campaign was willingly manipulated but did not conspire with the Russians. Read Volume 5 for Manafort details. He should have been given the maximum sentence for a hostile foreign agent, not a sentence for a common criminal.

What is troubling is this conclusion. With Putin's Cock Holster so openly hostile to US intelligence services, is he, behind the veil of Executive Branch secrecy, going 'postal' on our intel community? Perhaps outlawing dead drops and ordering the destruction of high speed cryptography machines? Maybe he'll backtrack and order one of his goons to wait until after the election....

The Committee found that highly evolved tools used to shape popular sentiment were utilized in support of the Trump Campaign during the 2016 election season, and Russia has made use of such tools in its influence operations, but a link between Russian efforts and the Campaign's use of these tools was not established. These commercially available services many of which are based overseas - rely on an array of personal information to build targeted messaging profiles. Russia applied these same technologies and methodologies to its influence campaign during the 2016 election and, in doing so, conducted foreign influence operations against the United States with a speed, precision, and scale not previously seen. The commoditization of these influence capabilities by for-profit firms working in the political and particularly electoral space, coupled with deeply concerning foreign government and intelligence service ties to some organizations, were troubling enough to warrant additional Committee scrutiny.

I can't speak of any secret knowledge about Mike DeWine but given his public persona I wouldn't be surprised if he can't stand President Deals on a personal level.

                            • This little story caught my eye a few hours ago and almost forgot to post it.

I had no idea the backbone of California wildfire-fighting was prison labor. Did anyone know about this?? So many of California's prisons currently have covid outbreaks that they are severely short of manpower to beat back wildfires currently raging across the state.

                              • Oh ho!

Now that the UAE has formally recognized Israel, Trump wants to sell new weapons to the UAE. And he wants to sell the UAE the same advanced weaponry that we have given to Israel: F-35 stealth fighters. Israel doesn't seem so thrilled that another player in the region has the same level of airpower that they do. And who knows? The same might be happening with the Saudis soon.
