  • The ancillary shit- like blacks aren't getting the vaccines-the liberals are into is shameful shit. The reasons for this are pretty clear and one of them is NOT that they can't get them because RACISM!

Meanwhile, the unvaxed, for any reason, are catching COVID at a record rate and fucking with a return to normal......and TBC, it's not because the unvaxed are some kind of lepers and a real threat to the public health, it's because the fear monkey crap being foisted on us and driving PH policy.

Fuck it ....... let the unvaxed get infected. Few will get seriously ill or die. Let the vaxed get re-infected - at the miniscule rate of about one in every 4500, is that going to present a PH problem? I kinda-fucking doubt it.

The insanity in the management of the pandemic crisis is mind boggling. Can you imagine if the crisis that was WWII was handled as incompetently? We'd be wearing Swastikas and bowing to the East under a flag of the rising sun.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. JH chased Saban from Alabama and caused Day, at the point of the OSU AD's gun, to make major changes to his staff just to beat Michigan. Love it. It's Moore!!!! time

    • A good compromise would be to say that if you get Covid and you have not been vaccinated, your employer does not have to pay for your sick leave.

        • States losing seats

West Virginia: Going from 3 down to 2. All 3 are currently Republicans so they can't avoid losing one here. All three districts are heavily Republican but the southernmost is moreso than the other two.

Ohio: Going from 16 down to 15. Only 4 are currently held by Democrats. It could be very difficult to eliminate any of them but Tim Ryan is the likeliest choice in the Youngstown area. R's dominate the legislature but don't have complete control in Ohio to do anything they please. The district I've probably seen the most complaints about is OH-1 and if that one gets altered to include more of Hamilton County and less of Warren County, Steve Chaobt (R) could be in trouble.

Michigan: Going from 14 to 13. Currently an even split. Not sure if Michigan is a Commission state or not. Dems will prob try to redraw Slotkin's district to make her easier to reelect but her and Stevens are probably more in danger than any Republican unless one of the guys around Grand Rapids gets a really unfavorable district. This one's close but I think the Dems are slightly more at risk to lose the seat.

New York: Going from 27 to 26. A Republican seat is almost certainly getting cut. Katko, the same guy who cut the Jan. 6th Commission deal, is one of the ones most in danger. He represents a very evenly-split district centered on Syracuse. The Dems may try to eliminate one of the Long Island Republican seats instead. They would love to cripple Stefanik but it seems unlikely.

Pennsylvania: Going from 18 to 17. Current districts were drawn by a court which produced an even 9-9 split. There's limited leeway to monkey around. If the eliminated district occurs in rural PA, and it probably should, that will hurt the Republicans more. But the most competitive part of the state is in Bucks County + The Lehigh Valley, currently represented by one Dem and one Republican. Small changes to either's district could see them tossed out.

Illinois: Going from 18 to 17. The state legislature is dominated by Dems and they have basically a free hand. An extremely gerrymandered map is going to be produced. Republicans currently only represent 5 out of 18 districts and a lot of what I've read indicates Adam Kinzinger's district would be the easiest one for Dems to eliminate and still feel good about holding the 13 they have. I will say too that a lot of the Chicagoland districts are already completely ridiculous.

California: Going from 53 to 52. California's maps have to be approved by a Commission so the Dems can't go buck wild here, but it's still probably more likely a Republican will lose their seat than a Dem. R's currently hold 11 seats. If not one of the Orange County Republicans, the most in danger is probably David Valadao in the Central Valley. That district has flipped back and forth in recent elections.

          • I've joined the ranks of those who believe masks don't work ..... now, I have some qualifiers. They do work in the right circumstance but the number of variables that determine if a mask works or doesn't work is so large that the likelihood that they are really doing any good to stop the spread of SARS2 is very low. I am particularly opposed to mask requirements for those that are vaccinated and that is because the potential for reinfection is so small and the risk of asymptomatic transmission in that circumstance even smaller.

Here's some facts on the ground - limited sample size but this ins't a study, it's anecdotal evidence that they don't work in one setting that is getting a ton of press - schools. This appeared in my NYT's news feed this evening:

With the highly contagious Delta variant, Dana said, “I think it’s not realistic to not expect cases in schools. So I’ll be watching how schools decide to react.”
One charter school in Georgia, which reopened last week, has already had to quarantine some 278 students, faculty and staff. The school had tested 1,900 students in the week before school started; masks were required, as were social distancing and regular temperature checks. But as of Thursday afternoon, 19 students and seven staff members had tested positive for the virus.
First, what Dana means by "how the schools react" is talking about what stupid mitigation measures will school officials impose on the already severely damaged schools system in the US. This question applies, in particular, to masks. Recall that Governor Desantis has banned county school officials from imposing mask mandates in schools. Of course this is highly controversial. It shouldn't be. Why?

Look at the second paragraph. Surprise with a mask mandate in place a lot of students and staff tested positive. Masks are not going to stop the spread of the virus in schools. Is that a crisis in the making. Fuck no it isn't yet the press wants us to believe it is. Political liberals want us to think it is and any one that opposes mass mandates in schools is killing children. Get the kids vaccinated. That will stop the spread of the virus or at least make it manageable. Masks aren't going to shit accept virtue signal.

Let's see how this plays out given that kids and teachers are going to get infected. In about a month, I want to know how many had symptoms or no symptoms. If symptoms, how man were beyond symptomatic level care for fever, cough and runny nose. How many of the school cohort in each district got seriously ill and the CFR of those that did.

                • Hanni - Kind of connected to your post earlier this week about multiple Republican "star" women being connected to a low-end pornographer-slash-"modeling" agency

I don't remember seeing this before but back in 2019 Giuliani's star witness Melissa Carone got 12 months probation for sending graphic sextapes to the ex-wife of her then-boyfriend. Yes, involving herself. Shortly after her probation ended is when Dominion hired her to work one day (Election Day). I assume her actual job duties were to mainly stand around and clean screens with lysol occasionally.

                        • Nothing posted here, I think, on Chairman Big Rig extending the eviction moratorium -- something he knows is brazenly unconstitutional. However, it's worth noting -- it's hard to credit cries of "Democracy is in danger!" and so forth when the same people support unquestionably illegal power grabs by the Executive. It was, by the way, illegal when PDJT did it.

Well, you can look for a very long time. It ain't there or even remotely close. The proper way to do this is through Congressional action. You now, separation of powers, the Constitution, all that jazz.
